Battery boost powers ASG’s green ambitions

A precision engineering firm has strengthened its sustainability efforts with a major investment in battery storage technology.

ASG AMF Engineering, based in Bromborough, The Wirral, has installed a Solax lithium-ferro phosphate battery system to complement its nearly 700 solar panels and electric vehicle charging systems, enabling the company to store renewable energy and significantly reduce its reliance on the national grid.

Bosses say the system, which integrates intelligent energy management, will be a “game-changer” for the business by enabling it to optimise power use across the factory and placing it at the “forefront of sustainable manufacturing”.

Simon Kirkman, managing director of ASG AMF Engineering, which is known for the manufacture of ultra-high vacuum components for the semiconductor industry and umbilical components for the subsea industry, said: “The introduction of battery storage technology is a game-changer for our business. 

“Our solar panel investment has already delivered significant savings, and with the new battery system we can maximise our energy efficiency even further. 

“This project supports our sustainability goals and ensures we remain competitive in an increasingly cost-sensitive industry.”
