National Stottie Week returns
A North East food favourite is getting another moment in the spotlight as National Stottie Week returns for a second year.
Organised by Big River Bakery, the week-long celebration will take place across NewcastleGateshead from February 24 to March 1, featuring stottie-inspired events, giveaways and even a brand-new Stottie Beer, brewed in partnership with Firebrick Brewery.
Families can enjoy free storytime sessions with ‘Scotty the Stottie’ at venues including Seven Stories, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and Home Group's headquarters at One Strawberry Lane, while budding bakers can take part in a live online Stottie Bake.
Events will kick off at Newcastle’s Grainger Market, where visitors can sample the new beer made using waste from the iconic bread.
