MCI Developments starts work on 38-home project
A builder has secured a contract to transform ex-industry land into housing.
MCI Developments is working with social housing provider Your Housing Group on a 38-home scheme in Wigan.
The operator, a subsidiary of Doncaster-headquartered Keepmoat, says the estate will feature two and three-bed homes.
It adds 19 properties will be available for shared ownership, with the remaining 19 for affordable rent, with all homes fitted with solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.
Craig Murphy, MCI Developments’ regional managing director, said: “We are delighted to begin regenerating the industrial estate to create a thriving community.
“By working in partnership with Your Housing Group, these modern new homes will be available for those across the Wigan community who need them the most.”
Lorraine Donnelly, Your Housing Group executive director of asset, added: “This site is another step in delivering our vision of ensuring more people have a safe place to call home.”
