Kids’ Village appoints new board trustee

Kids’ Village, the UK’s first dedicated respite holiday village for children with critical illness, has appointed Lucy Hudson as a board trustee.

Lucy, managing director at McCann Birmingham, brings extensive leadership and marketing expertise to the charity as it works to raise £5 million for a purpose-designed resort near Lichfield.

Her appointment follows a newly announced partnership between Kids’ Village and McCann Birmingham, which will provide ongoing marketing consultancy and lead fundraising initiatives to support the charity’s mission.

Lucy said: “Kids’ Village is a truly inspiring initiative, and I am honoured to join as a board trustee.

“This is a cause close to my heart, as I understand how uncertain and difficult life can be for families facing critical illness.

“The Village will provide a sanctuary for children and their loved ones, and I am passionate about helping to make this vision a reality.

“Supporting initiatives like Kids’ Village is also an important way to give back to the region and make a tangible difference in our local communities.”

Inspired by childhood cancer survivor Sam Fletcher-Goodwin, Kids’ Village aims to create a haven where critically ill children and their families can enjoy much-needed respite.

Katrina Cooke, chief executive at Kids' Village, added: “Lucy has been an incredible advocate for Kids’ Village through our partnership with McCann Birmingham, and we are thrilled to have her join our board of trustees.

“Her leadership, marketing expertise and personal connection to our cause will be invaluable as we continue our journey to bring the Village to life.”
