Clive Owen LLP unveils senior leader changes
An accountancy and business advisory firm has undergone a senior management reshuffle.
Clive Owen LLP has appointed partners Simon Hook and Kevin Shotton as joint managing partners.
The duo replace Gary Ellis, who has stepped down as managing partner after four years.
They say the move leaves the Darlington, Newcastle and York-based firm “well-positioned for continued success”.
Gary will remain with the business, which has further bases in Durham and Middlesbrough, as a member of its management committee.
Finance partner Simon and Kevin, who is responsible for the firm’s audit compliance, said: “We will strive to build on Gary’s legacy, who has led the firm through a hugely successful period.
“Joint managing partners are becoming increasingly common in professional services, reflecting a shift toward collaborative leadership in the modern workplace.
“Our people-first culture and values-led approach will stand us in good stead in this next chapter.”
Joining the firm in January 1996, Gary established its Durham office a year later.
During his tenure as managing partner, Clive Owen LLP opened bases in Middlesbrough and Newcastle, and grew its headcount from 100 to nearly 150.
The firm also achieved several industry certifications, including Great Place to Work accreditation and Good Business Charter status.
Gary said: “Being part of this amazing firm and its evolution over the last 29 years has been a massive honour, and it has been an immeasurable privilege to lead our incredible team these past four years.
“I am immensely proud of everything we have collectively achieved, and I look forward to continuing to support the firm’s ambitions as a member of our management committee.”
