Link Agency expands offering as Goole grows
A long-established property agency is expanding into commercial real estate as investment in Goole, in East Yorkshire, grows.
Link Agency, founded in 1983, has focused on residential property for over 40 years but is now launching a development of apartments and commercial units – the first significant new build in the town centre since 2010.
The agency’s team of six will manage the new Carlton Apartments site, which will deliver 15 apartments and four commercial spaces.
Jake Findley, lettings manager at Link Agency, said: “It’s a significant project because it’s a long time since there was any new build for commercial in the town centre.
“We’ve had enquiries from fitness, education and training, and retail, and one unit is already reserved.”
Interest in Goole is growing due to the presence of Siemens Mobility’s rail village, a £240 million investment that is producing new Piccadilly line trains for Transport for London (TfL), with future UK mainline trains, including battery bi-mode models, also set to be built at the site.
The train manufacturing plant and supply chain rail village have also attracted the likes of Metsä Tissue and speciality chemicals company Croda, with Goole set to be the home of Metsä Tissue’s paper mill, which will have the capacity to produce 240,000 tonnes of tissue paper and could potentially create more than 400 jobs.
Croda also chose Goole as the site of their £7 million distribution and warehouse facility, which is located on the Goole 36 Enterprise Zone to the west of the town.
Jake added: “When you look at the growth of Goole and the scale of investment coming in, it’s clear that now is a good time to expand what we do, and the Carlton project is a good place to start.”
