Shenward expands with London practice deal
An accountancy firm has expanded with a takeover.
Shenward has bought John Cumming Ross and subsidiary Jaycee Comservices.
Bosses at the Cleckheaton-headquartered company say the “significant milestone” has doubled its team and client base.
They add it marks the next phase of a growth blueprint, which aims to add two further accountancy practices to Shenward’s stable by 2030.
Under the terms of the deal, Harrow-based John Cumming Ross will rebrand to Shenward, with all employees and directors remaining in existing roles.
Sherad Dewedi, managing partner at Shenward, which previously bought Leeds-based accountant Cox, Costello and Horne, said the move will build on rising demand in the capital.
He added: “When we were introduced to John Cumming Ross as a potential acquisition, it immediately felt like the right move.
“The founding members have built a fantastic business, and we are proud to bring the firm under the Shenward group.
“London is a global hub for financial services and a key driver of the UK economy, and I can’t wait to see what opportunities this move presents for our team and clients.”
Dilip Unarket, director at John Cumming Ross, added: “I am confident this acquisition will take the business to new heights.
“Businesses are navigating complex financial and regulatory landscapes, and with the extra backing of the Shenward team, our firm will be well-positioned to support their increasing needs.”
The deal was funded by Lloyds Banking Group’s team, with legal services provided by Eaton Smith.
