Vertu makes £3.6 million Volvo sites investment
A motor retailer is expanding its presence in the South West with a multi-million-pound investment in two dealerships.
Gateshead-headquartered Vertu Motors is spending £3.6 million to relocate its Volvo Yeovil site and reintroduce the Volvo brand to Plymouth after 17 years.
The Yeovil site will move to Lynx West Trading Estate, while Volvo Plymouth will open at Oreston Road, in Plymstock, with bosses saying both locations will showcase Volvo’s latest electric models.
The move follows Vertu’s acquisition of Rowes Garage and Helston Garages Group dealerships in the region.
Nick Jones, Volvo franchise director at Vertu, said: “We are very excited to expand our Volvo representation to six sites across the South West.
“We are thrilled to bring the Volvo brand back to Plymouth and provide customers in Yeovil with the very best experience at our new facility.
“This is a significant investment and underlines the confidence and relationship we have with Volvo UK and also the market opportunity in the South West.
“We’ve put a lot of work into creating contemporary spaces where customers can feel relaxed and comfortable.”
