Black Cats to ‘make real difference’ on their sleeves
A North East charity is set to benefit from a show of support as Sunderland AFC dedicates a match to its campaign.
Seriös Group, the Black Cats’ official partner, has donated its sleeve sponsorship to the Foundation of Light’s ‘Wear One’ initiative for the club’s upcoming game against Millwall on Saturday, March 29.
The team will wear shirts featuring the charity’s logo, which will later be auctioned to raise funds.
Izy Herrera, head of marketing at Seriös Group, said: "At Seriös Group, we’re very proud to be the official sleeve sponsor of Sunderland AFC.
“So, when we had the chance to donate our sleeve to the Foundation of Light for the Millwall match, we didn’t hesitate.
“The charity does incredible work in the community, helping people live healthier, better lives, and this match will support their fundraising efforts.
“As Sunderland AFC’s official data partner, we’re passionate about supporting the club and initiatives like this shows the power football has to make a real difference.
“We’re honoured to play a small part in it."
With one in three children in Sunderland living in poverty, the Wear One campaign is more critical than ever.
Lesley Spuhler, chief executive of Foundation of Light, Sunderland AFC’s official charity, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Seriös Group for their generosity and commitment to our cause.
“By gifting their sleeve sponsorship to support the ‘Wear One’ campaign, they are making a tangible difference to the lives of those in need across the North East.
“This kind of support helps shine a spotlight on the challenges many in our community face.
“Together, we can create opportunities, provide essential support and help change lives for the better.”
