Tech firm to bolster staff numbers after acquisition
A tech firm has unveiled recruitment plans following a takeover.
VirtualDCS says it will add “around a dozen” staff over the next 12 months.
The move comes after the Leeds-based cloud hosting, disaster recovery and cyber resilience operator was bought by Manchester private equity firm MonacoSol.
Bosses say the firm will add commercial and technical staff to its existing 22-strong team of developers, system analysts, network engineers and cybersecurity operators.
Under the terms of the takeover, completed for an undisclosed sum, co-founders Richard May, John Murray and Dan Nichols have remained with the business.
VirtualDCS, whose clients include retailer B&M and The Rix Group, has also moved to new headquarters in Leeds’ Wellington Place.
Richard May said: “This acquisition is a key moment in our journey.
“With the added firepower of MonacoSol, we’re in an even stronger position to innovate, expand our capabilities and deliver exceptional solutions.
“This partnership will drive the business to new heights.”
MonacoSol is the family office of technology and software entrepreneur Richard Beaton, with his sons Ollie and Eddie serving as chief executive and chief financial officer, respectively.
Ollie added: “VirtualDCS is an innovative cloud business with a knowledgeable team and a loyal customer base, and we are thrilled to be involved.”
MonacoSol was advised on the deal by Rebecca Grisewood of law firm Gateley; Colin Smyth and Jake Hodgson of RSM UK; and David Taylor of Harts Chartered Accountants.
Cathy Cook and Brad Stewart, of Bradford, Harrogate, Ilkley and Leeds-based LCF Law, provided legal advice to VirtualDCS.
