Redcar high street set for transformation
The revitalisation of Redcar high street is set to begin next month.
Constructions works, aimed at enhancing the area’s appearance and functionality, are set to start on Tuesday, April 22.
The project, funded by the Redcar Town Deal board, which secured £25 million of Government funding back in 2021 to regenerate Redcar's town centre and seafront, will introduce new paving, street furniture, landscaping and improved lighting, all of which were identified as being priorities by residents during consultations.
The works will be carried out in phases to minimise disruption, with phase one scheduled from April to October 2025 and phase two continuing until November 2026.
Catherine Clennett, chair of the Redcar Town Deal board, said: “We are looking forward to seeing a transformed high street once works are complete, and ask for your patience while the improvement works take place.”
