SportsShoes.com races ahead with app success
A West Yorkshire-based sports retailer is celebrating a major milestone after its first-ever mobile app reached 150,000 downloads in just six months.
Shipley-based SportsShoes.com, which stocks over 17,000 products from 150 global running and outdoor brands, launched the app in August 2024 as part of its strategic expansion, aiming to enhance customer experience and engagement.
The platform offers personalised product recommendations, exclusive competitions and membership integrations, including the ability to sync England Athletics profiles for tailored content.
Bosses say the app has contributed to a 22 per cent rise in international sales in the first half of its latest financial year, helping to “power growth plans”.
Brett Bannister, managing partner of SportsShoes.com, said: “It’s amazing to see the positive response from the running and fitness community to our first ever mobile app.
“The rapid uptake is a solid reflection of our commitment to provide the best online purchasing experience, helpful content and unmissable competitions across multiple platforms.
“This early success also opens more doors to innovate and leverage tech to further connect, engage and serve the running community and power our growth plans.”
The app’s launch aligns with a wider £4.6 million investment by the £90 million-turnover retailer in technology, people and processes, including a replatforming of its UK and international website.
