DM Hall bolsters presence in Cumbria

DM Hall, one of Scotland’s leading firms of chartered surveyors, has expanded its presence in Cumbria with the appointment of Suzie Barron as an associate.

Suzie, a local market expert, will work from the firm’s Kendal office, focusing on valuation, agency sales, lettings, acquisitions and landlord-tenant matters.

She brings over 10 years of experience in Commercial Agency and is a qualified Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).

Suzie said: “I am delighted to be joining a firm of DM Hall’s stature and reputation.

“In the short time it has been providing services in the Cumbria area, it has gained a very favourable reputation for integrity and professionalism.

“The firm has a most impressive pedigree, having been a trusted partner of clients for more than 128 years, and the general practice team I will be working with in Kendal have already very much proved that they are on top of their game.

“The North West is a very vibrant market and I will be dealing with a wide range of commercial properties and advising clients as to the best approach when considering the best use of property.”

This follows DM Hall’s 2023 expansion into Cumbria, where it has gained a strong reputation with lenders, pension funds, public bodies and private clients.

The firm has also appointed Clare Browne as property administrator to support its growing operations in the region.

DM Hall, now in its 128th year, continues to expand across Scotland and the North of England, having acquired Hyde Harrington in 2023 and opening a Cornwall office in 2024.

Charles Metcalf, a partner within the building surveying team in Kendal, added: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome Suzie Barron aboard and we are confident that she will be a very valuable addition to the team.

“She has already gained enormous experience working in high-pressure environments with major national concerns and, as a local person, her knowledge of the area is second-to-none.

“She is already proving her worth and I am sure that our ever-growing portfolio of clients will appreciate the special qualities she is adding to what is a very accomplished team in Kendal and Carlisle.”
