Developer secures Sheffield scheme approval

A commercial property firm has secured approval for a 500-job scheme.

Rula Developments has been backed to deliver Europa Sheffield.

Bosses say the 271,750sq ft venture, primed for land off junction 34 of the M1, will support hundreds of jobs and meet “significant demand” for industrial space.

Set to neighbour the existing Sheffield Business Park, the company plans to demolish an existing factory to create one base or several smaller units.

Work could be completed by early next year.

Anthony Clitheroe, development director at Bawtry-based Rula Developments, said: “We are delighted to secure planning consent for the redevelopment and regeneration of this important brownfield site.

“We know there is significant demand for purpose-built space in the area, and are considering our delivery options based on current occupier discussions.

“We are open to let or sell either one larger unit, split the site, or potentially forward fund for speculative delivery.”
