Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP (WJM) has appointed Amanda Masson as head of family law.

Amanda, who joins from Harper Macleod, brings 25 years of experience as a litigator in both the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.

Her expertise includes child relocation, high-value financial provision in family business cases and family creation and fertility law.

Amanda also handles complex international adoption and surrogacy cases.

Based in Glasgow, Amanda joins the firm during a period of growth following the announcement of WJM's merger with Davidson Chalmers Stewart.

Amanda said: “I’m excited to joined Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie as it’s clear the firm is committed to excellence in client service and that is very important to me.

“Family law is an area that requires both expertise and sensitivity, and helping clients navigate legal challenges in this area is a real privilege.

“I am looking forward to growing the team across Scotland – which already has a sterling reputation and was a huge influence in me deciding to join the firm”.

Fraser Gillies, managing partner at WJM, added: “Amanda is joining from Harper Macleod where she was head of family for many years, and she brings an excellent market reputation and ambitions to help us further grow our family team.

“Tom Quail has done an excellent job building our family team over many years and we look forward to building on its success to date.”
