£250,000 boost puts growth on firm's menu
A technology start-up is targeting hospitality sector expansion after securing £250,000 support.
One Touch has been backed to roll out an artificial intelligence-powered voice automation platform to boost restaurant operations.
Bosses at Leeds-headquartered One Touch say they aim to install the technology in 5000 eateries by the end of 2026 while expanding into hotels and retail and takeaway venues.
The firm’s software – already used by Wakefield restaurants Qubana and Fino – allows operators to take table bookings, request food deliveries and respond to customer queries.
And with seed investment from ex-Veezu chief operating officer Andrew Pennock, Craig Pollock – who launched One Touch alongside David Downs – says it is primed to deliver a step-change for hospitality businesses.
Director Craig added: “One Touch makes the booking process more efficient and frees up valuable time for staff to focus on delivering top-class customer service.
“With real-time interaction, it also offers diners an alternative restaurant if their chosen venue is fully booked.
“Adaptability is critical to the success of restaurants.
“Up to 30 per cent of calls go unanswered, either through staff shortages or calls while the venue is closed.
“However, One Touch has the potential to boost revenues by capturing calls that are being missed.”
