The refurbished boardroom in Leeds' Rose Wharf

Office space just the tonic for design firm's growth

A commercial design and build firm is expanding with an office switch – into space it has helped create.

Design Tonic is moving to Leeds’ Rose Wharf.

The company has taken about 2450sq ft of space in the Grade II-listed former flax mill.

Design Tonic has worked with property firm Caddick to revive the building, based near the River Aire, which will also house Rabbit Hole Coffee and engineering consultancy Curtins.

Founded in 2019 by Amanda Cook and Joe Darcy, Design Tonic counts Leeds United Football Club and Yorkshire County Cricket Club among its clients, recently strengthening ties with the latter through a partnership with Yorkshire Women.

Amanda, Design Tonic director, said: “Moving to Rose Wharf marks a proud milestone in our journey as a team and a business.

“We instantly fell in love with the building’s charm and heritage, and its city centre proximity and picturesque riverside views make it the perfect setting for a workplace.

“With amenities like the business lounge, bookable meeting rooms and outdoor areas, Rose Wharf offers unmatched flexibility.”

Hollie Shackleton, Caddick Developments’ associate director, added: “It’s great to welcome Design Tonic as our newest tenants.

“Having worked closely together to enhance the building, we’re excited for this new chapter.

“We’re looking forward to the Design Tonic team moving in and to hosting such creative and collaborative minds who are already making a great impact across Leeds.”
