Pacifica drives up green goals with fleet move

A domestic appliance repair firm says it has accelerated green goals with a vehicle investment.

Pacifica has added 20 electric vans to its fleet.

Bosses say the move strengthens a blueprint to become a net-zero business by 2035.

They add the vans will be used nationally to support the Houghton-le-Spring-based company’s provision of repairs for clients including Electrolux, LG, Sony, Hisense and Shop Direct.

Kevin Brown, chief executive, said: “It’s vital we carry out our work in a sustainable and responsible way.

“Expanding our use of electric vehicles is a clear demonstration of that commitment, and we will continue to grow the electric vehicle element of our fleet.

“Supporting consumers to keep their appliances working for longer is at the core of our business.

“It helps reduce waste, prevents products going to landfill and avoids unnecessary replacement – so ensuring our operations align with those environmental goals is the right thing to do.”

Richard Melvin, group SHEQT manager, added: “This investment supports our broader goal of promoting a circular economy by keeping appliances in use for longer and out of landfill.”
