Getting to know... Charlie Bartle
In a new feature for Bdaily looking at the person behind the business profile, Charlie Bartle, managing director of Leeds-based app development company Decodifi, talks about her route into the technology sector, the delight she takes in supporting client journeys and how she relaxes outside of work.
Did you always want to work in digital transformation and development?
I didn’t initially plan to, but my career naturally progressed in this direction.
The significant potential and the engaging challenges of the field quickly resonated with me, and it’s been a rewarding journey ever since.
What’s the best bit about your job? And the worst?
The most rewarding aspect is the problem-solving involved at every stage of a project.
It’s incredibly satisfying to collaborate with clients to understand their challenges and then bring their visions to life.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
Can I choose three?!
Building a business to achieve seven-figure turnover within three years.
Leading the turnaround of a struggling business in a new sector to profitability within six months, which resulted in an industry award.
And completing the London Marathon in 2024.
How do you relax outside of work?
Finding time to unwind with young children requires some creative scheduling.
My go-to activities for relaxation include running, hitting the gym and indulging in a good book whenever I can steal a quiet moment.
What makes the North such a great place to live and work?
While I have fond memories of my roots in Norwich, Leeds and the wider North have offered incredible opportunities for career growth.
The region boasts a vibrant business community and a fantastic quality of life.
It's great to have easy access to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales too.
Tell us something about you we didn’t know...
In a previous chapter of my life, I spent some time as a DJ.
