Tony Hadley to headline Oyster Festival
A North East hotel is gearing up to host one of the region’s most anticipated social events, promising a day of food, music and fundraising this autumn.
Hardwick Hall Hotel, in Sedgefield, County Durham, will welcome hundreds of guests to its 22nd annual Oyster Festival on Friday, September 26, with entertainment headlined by Tony Hadley, former frontman of 1980s supergroup Spandau Ballet, who will perform a set packed with hits such as Gold, True and Through the Barricades.
The event will also feature comedian Joe Pasquale, The Dolly Show, Emerald Thieves, JJ Galway Band and DJ Brandon Block.
Guests can expect a champagne reception, oyster stalls, a three-course fruits de mer lunch and complimentary drinks throughout the day.
The festival has raised more than £2.5 million for local causes over the past two decades, with organisers hoping to generate another significant donation.
Proceeds this year will go to Heel & Toe Children’s Charity, in Pelton, Chester le Street, which provides free and low-cost therapy to children with physical disabilities and complex needs across the region.
John Adamson, owner of Hardwick Hall and Ramside Estates, said: “Tony Hadley is a true legend of British music and we’re absolutely thrilled to have him headlining this year’s Oyster Festival.
“He’ll bring a real sense of style and showmanship to the day, and we know his live set will be a huge highlight for our guests.”
Tickets for the Oyster Festival are available by emailing events@hardwickhallhotel.co.uk or calling 01740 620253.
