Arian EMS eyes growth with new technology
A Northumberland-based electronics manufacturer is ramping up its output after making a significant investment in new technology.
Arian EMS, which operates from Wansbeck Business Park, in Ashington, has invested nearly £500,000 in two “world class” new electronics assembly machines: a Panasonic NPM-W2 machine and a Panasonic AM100 system.
Bosses say the investment has doubled Arian EMS' surface mount production capacity, allowing the company to manufacture up to 100,000 printed circuit boards per month.
They add that the new equipment will help the business boost its output across sectors including defence, aviation and medical, strengthening its ability to win additional contracts.
Malcolm Humble, founder and managing director of Arian EMS, said: “This investment is a major milestone for Arian EMS.
“It demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our Ashington facility with world class technology, and to creating new job opportunities in North East England through increased business growth.
“The integration of the Panasonic NPM-W2 and AM100 machines into our site reduces manufacturing cycle times by nearly 50 per cent and brings a much higher level of efficiency to our surface mount department.
“This puts us in a strong position to support UK-based businesses who wish to onshore their component supply chains, and who are looking for a contract manufacturing partner that can deliver to tight deadlines… and to the exceptional level of quality they require.”
Founded in 2017, Arian EMS has grown year on year and is now targeting turnover of up to £15 million by 2030.
The investment adds to a wide range of services already offered, including high voltage testing, final assembly and in-circuit testing.
Arian EMS has also bolstered its apprenticeship programme with two new recruits undertaking roles in sales and finance through Newcastle-based TDR Training.
