IT firm eyes growth after £500,000 support
An IT firm has unveiled growth plans after securing £500,000 backing.
CompuWeb Communications Services is targeting colocation hosting expansion following support from the British Business Bank Midlands Engine Investment Fund II.
Bosses say the cash will “accelerate” its ability to offer clients data centre space to house IT infrastructure.
The company operates a Nottingham-based data centre and has further sites in Manchester and London.
Founded in 1999, the firm – which also has a presence in North America – works with SMEs, larger companies such as Hillarys Blinds and Jonas Sports, and public sector organisations including the NHS and Cornwall Council.
Karl Mendez, chief executive, said: “We are seeing increasing demand for colocation hosting, driven by businesses seeking flexible, cost-efficient and energy-conscious solutions for IT infrastructure.
“This funding allows us to accelerate our growth in this space, enhancing our capabilities while maintaining our commitment to outstanding customer service.”
The business secured its finance package via East and South East Midlands fund manager Maven Capital Partners.
Jonathan Lowe, Maven partner – regional debt funds, said: “CompuWeb Communications Services has built a strong reputation, and this funding will support its expansion while enabling more businesses to benefit from its expertise.
“We are pleased to support Karl and his team as they scale operations.”
David Tindall, British Business Bank senior investment manager, added: “This will fuel the company’s expansion, broadening its offerings and driving positive economic growth both within the Midlands and across the wider region.”
