XSEM MD joins board of event industry charity

Dan Bardgett, co-founder and managing director of Leeds-headquartered brand engagement agency XSEM, has been appointed to the board of Meeting Needs, a foundation that awards grants to small charities within the meetings and events industry.

Founded in 2003, Meeting Needs supports various charities, including a recent community program in Aldershot that provides food for 80 families.

XSEM, celebrating its 21st anniversary, has had a long-standing partnership with the foundation.

Under Dan’s leadership, XSEM has grown significantly and won industry awards for innovation, particularly for its adaptation to online events during the global lockdown.

He said: “Meeting Needs has earned its place at the centre of the events industry as an incredible vehicle for those operating in our industry to give something back, so I hope I can continue to shape that mission for them into the future.

“Our mission at XSEM is to make people happy.

“Whether that’s our clients, their customers, our team, or with the community around us, making people happy is in tune with Meeting Needs’ own purpose too.

“Having the privilege of now supporting my fellow board members, and the wider Meeting Needs team is a tremendous honour.”

Chris Parnham, chair of Meeting Needs, added: “XSEM has been a long-standing and valued supporter of our mission, so we’re thrilled Dan will take a place on our board to help us better identify and support the diverse range of projects, at home and abroad, that matter to those at the sharp end of the events and meetings industry.

“We rely on fantastic organisations like XSEM, and many others besides, to keep on championing the worthy causes, charities and community projects we then support.”
