Tekmar Group delight at Scottish wind farm deal
A marine engineer has secured a Scottish renewables contract.
Tekmar Group is set to work on the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm.
The Newton Aycliffe-based business will deliver grouting services on the 72-turbine scheme, which is being built off the Angus coast.
Grouting is used to stabilise subsea foundations, with bosses saying the contract – awarded by civil engineer Charles Brand – will “expand Tekmar Group’s presence in the critical service area”.
Work is scheduled to start in September.
The project comes just weeks after Tekmar Group said it was positioned for “growth like never before” after earnings reached a five-year high.
Richard Turner, chief executive, said: “This contract win marks another step in our strategy to broaden our offshore wind service offering, particularly in grouting – an area of increasing strategic importance.
“We are delighted to be supporting Charles Brand on a nationally significant project like Inch Cape, and look forward to a safe and successful delivery.”
