Breck accelerates £100 million housing drive
A property developer says it has “taken a huge step forward” in delivering affordable housing across Yorkshire and the North West, with more than £100 million of schemes underway or in planning.
Preston-headquartered Breck Homes has submitted applications for six developments totalling 301 homes worth £67 million, including its first three projects in Bradford, while the developer has also started work on sites in Preston and Middlewich, valued at over £25 million.
The firm, founded in 2020, is also preparing to submit plans for a £10 million, 35-home development at Pilch Lane, Knowsley, and is set to open a Leeds office later this year.
Andy Garnett, director at Breck, said: “The government has outlined plans to build 1.5 million new homes during this parliament and fulfilling the need for high-quality houses across right across the North is a key part of that.
“Breck now has an active development pipeline of over 1500 homes and we hope the six further schemes we have submitted planning permission for in March and April will grow this pipeline further.
“It has been a significant period for us where around £102 million of affordable housing development has taken a huge step forward and a real statement of intent for our continued growth over the coming years.
“We will be continuing this momentum through the rest of May and June with several further sites set to be submitted for planning, begin construction or take a significant step forward.”
