SPG Intelligence sets sights on AI boom
A Leeds-based tech firm has unveiled a new specialist division to help UK businesses harness the economic potential of artificial intelligence (AI) through smarter cloud, security and automation solutions.
SPG Intelligence has launched as a specialist arm of Solution Performance Group, following a strategic reorganisation to accelerate AI delivery across the public and private sectors.
Focusing on three core areas – cloud intelligence, cyber intelligence and applied intelligence – the business supports organisations seeking to modernise infrastructure, enhance digital resilience and integrate AI tools into daily operations.
Gareth Humphreys, group chief executive at SPG Intelligence, said: “Our clients aren’t asking if they should use AI; they’re asking how fast they can make it happen.
“The launch is about responding to that urgency.
“We’ve redeployed talent, refined our focus and are ready to scale.”
SPG Intelligence’s launch comes amid soaring demand for AI-related skills and mounting concerns around cybersecurity, with UK firms losing an estimated £21 billion annually to cybercrime.
This aligns with wider national efforts to cement the UK’s global AI position, with the Government pledging £1.5 billion to support AI innovation, including 20-fold increases in public compute capacity and new AI Growth Zones.
The UK also ranks third globally for private AI investment, having raised over £20 billion since 2016 — a figure that is expected to rise sharply as adoption accelerates across sectors.
Gareth added: “We set up the group six years ago to help companies tackle technological challenges.
“We’ve seen the number of AI and machine learning projects we undertake grow in volume and complexity.
“Now is the right time to grow our capacity in this area and enable us to help more companies.”
