Gate 7 prints its mark in India with new base
A print company is expanding its global footprint with an Indian base.
Gate 7 has opened a 15,000sq ft site in Pune, marking a major milestone in its 25th year.
Bosses say it will boost the company’s presence in the construction equipment sector and improve service for clients such as JCB’s Indian operations.
Gate 7 is known for decal manufacturing and high-performance print solutions, and its Indian base comes equipped with digital technology, including the country's first Mimaki JFX-600 flatbed printer.
It employs 40 staff, with plans to add 30 more within a year.
Harry Wickham, managing director at Gate 7, which counts leading brands such as Volvo, Hitachi, Komatsu and Bobcat among its clients, said: “It’s an exciting time for Gate 7 as we look to realise our vision of becoming the global leader in supplying innovative industrial decals and printed components.
“The Pune facility will position us to support the growing Indian market through our production capacity and reduced lead times while laying the foundation for exports in South East Asia, which is a key growth region for us.
“We are immensely proud to continue our collaboration with JCB and would like to extend our gratitude to JCB India for their continued support, which has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.
“We are also in discussions with major global construction equipment manufacturers operating in India, which will enable us to expand our reach within the Indian market.”
