Hicomply expands with new Manchester base

A fast-growing software company is strengthening its national presence with a new base in the North West.

Newcastle-based Hicomply, which specialises in information security management software, has opened a Manchester office to support its rapid expansion.

The announcement follows major client wins, including b2b.store, SymTerra and FormusPro, which have credited the platform with helping them access new markets and secure contracts through certification support.

Bosses say the move follows a 20 per cent increase in headcount and a user base that passed 20,000 by the end of 2024.

They add that the move has been underpinned by a £3 million investment from capital investor BEF, which has fuelled product development and market expansion, with the aim now to double in size by the end of 2025.

Ed Bartlett, chief executive at Hicomply, said: “Cybersecurity is no longer just something that sits with the IT team.

“Forward-thinking businesses are coming to realise that it is essential for businesses looking to reduce risk, protect their operations and unlock new opportunities.

“We have seen first-hand how helping organisations achieve certification can open doors, whether that is winning new contracts and tenders, building customer trust or entering new markets.

“That is why we are investing in Manchester, to get closer to the growing number of businesses that recognise compliance as a strategic advantage.

“Our goal is to simplify every process and every step so teams can meet framework standards faster and build on the work they have already done.

“Even for those just starting the journey, it does not have to feel daunting, and we are here to support them every step of the way.”

Hicomply’s Manchester team will be led by chief revenue officer Mark Edgeworth.
