Bloom appoints non-executive chair
Bloom Procurement Services has appointed David Bailey as its new non-executive chair to support its next phase of growth.
The Newcastle-based company, which connects public sector buyers with a pre-approved supplier network, is backed by growth capital investor BGF.
David was introduced via BGF’s Talent Network – one of the UK and Ireland’s largest pools of board-level talent.
With more than 35 years of experience in professional and IT services, David has held senior roles across management consulting and growth strategy.
He is a former president of the Management Consultancies Association and previously served as a growth expert with The Consultancy Growth Network.
David said: “With the Procurement Act now in force, there’s a renewed opportunity to drive better outcomes, increase social value, and foster a more dynamic relationship between public sector organisations and their supply chains.
“Bloom is already delivering a proven, compliant and cost-effective solution – I’m excited to help accelerate its reach and impact.”
David’s appointment marks a key step for Bloom as it continues to scale its fully managed procurement platform, which is designed to drive value and outcomes for public sector organisations across the UK.
Amabel Grant, chief executive of Bloom Procurement Services, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome David to Bloom.
“His combination of strategic insight, consulting expertise, and strong relationships across our supplier base makes him a perfect fit for our mission.
“His appointment comes at a pivotal moment as we scale our platform and deepen our impact across the UK public sector.”
Adam Jacobs, founder of Bloom Procurement Services, added: “Bloom is at a critical inflection point.
“David’s leadership and commercial experience will help us unlock the next chapter of growth.
“Together, we’ll strengthen our position as a trusted delivery partner for the public sector and a vital route to market for suppliers of all sizes.”
