York-headquartered veterinary group VetPartners has appointed Jonathan Power as its new UK managing director.
Jonathan, a seasoned leader in healthcare and pharmacy, will oversee UK operations as the group continues to grow.
His appointment enables chief executive Jo Malone to focus on the wider European business, which spans more than 850 sites across eight countries.
Originally from Newcastle, Jonathan co-founded Avicenna Pharmacy and brings with him deep experience in scaling people-led businesses.
Jonathan said: “Everyone at VetPartners is passionate about having the right culture, and that is something that has always been important to me.
“I believe the right way to build a sustainable and successful business is by looking after people, patients and clients, as well as the planet.
“There is a strong sense of purpose as we want to provide outstanding care for patients, an excellent experience for clients and be a great place to work.
“People’s views and voices are heard, and I want to ensure that continues even though we are a large business.
“I’m new to the veterinary sector and I’m looking forward to supporting our clinicians. VetPartners has a huge amount of talent and experience in that area, and I hope to complement that by bringing something different.
“I plan to visit practices and understand the challenges faced by clinicians and learn about how they work with clients and patients.”
Jo added: “Jonathan brings an exceptional blend of business experience which we have taken time to find.
“His background in healthcare is helpful, and a people-focused outlook fits well with our culture.
“His leadership will be instrumental in helping the business to continue to develop sustainably and ensure that we continue to focus on being a great place to work.”
