Engineer eyeing growth after hitting milestone
A family mechanical and electrical engineer is forecasting expansion after reaching an operational milestone.
Salko UK says it is primed to grow by 20 per cent by the end of the year.
The upbeat message comes as the Goole-based firm celebrates its 25th anniversary.
And bosses say its progress will be fuelled by a new project to deliver mechanical support for an open-cycle gas turbine project in Immingham, near Grimsby.
Founded by chair Dean Murphy and led by managing director Steve Mason, the business’ operations date back to work on Hatfield Colliery – one of the UK’s last operational coal mines.
Counting further work across the power generation, construction, engineering and nuclear sectors, and projects in the UK and Ireland, its clients include health club operator David Lloyd.
Dean, who founded the firm at the former Goole shipyard – and has seen revenue grow 65-fold since 2000 – said: “I’m incredibly proud to be celebrating a quarter of a century.
“As we look ahead to the next 25 years, we’ll be continuing our work to provide solutions for our varied roster of clients.”
Steve added: “As the Humber region gears up for industrial decarbonisation, we’re keen to support renewable energy as a key service.
“We’re incredibly excited about the pivotal change that will take place in the next decade.”
