Unipart set for take-off with Leonardo helicopter deal
A supply chain firm has secured an aerospace contract.
Unipart is working with helicopter operator Leonardo.
Bosses say the three-year deal will see Unipart provide warehousing and distribution services to boost Leonardo’s work on UK and Irish commercial and public service helicopters.
The Oxford-headquartered company will also support order deliveries and inbound and inventory management at Leonardo’s Elstree Aerodrome base.
Darren Leigh, Unipart chief executive, said: “Partnering with Leonardo is another great opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities in the aerospace market.
“In an industry facing a number of challenges, from production demands to sustainability targets, it’s crucial we provide best-in-class supply chain solutions that deliver sustainable growth.”
Francesco Bellardi, Leonardo Helicopters vice president – customer support and services, added: “This partnership is an important milestone in our path towards customer enhancement.
“From Elstree Aerodrome, we will have the ability to serve all customers in the region from a central location within hours from the request of support.”
