Furniture maker sits pretty with luxury hotel projects
A bedroom furniture maker is sitting pretty after completing luxury hotel work.
Curtis Furniture supported room fit-outs at Portrush’s Dunluce Lodge and St Andrews’ Seaton House.
The firm made more than 1000 pieces of furniture for 37 rooms during the 18-month project, with hotel bosses hailing its “meticulous attention to detail”.
Working with fit-out partner Fitzsimons, the Leeds-based business provided sofas, sofa beds and desk chairs, as well as more unique items including curved timber bathroom vanity units, iron antler metal headboards and burr walnut coffee tables.
Design work at Dunluce Lodge, which neighbours Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland, was led by agency Brill Design, with Upperworth Studios heading Seaton House work.
Jason Platten, Curtis Furniture’s head of design, said: “These projects gave us the opportunity to push the boundaries of design and craftsmanship.
“Our UK-based team handled every stage in-house, from CAD modelling to installation, ensuring a seamless result for both hotels.”
Paige Harris, vice president of architecture and design at Valor Hospitality Partners – which manages Dunluce Lodge and Seaton House under the Links Collection brand – added: “Curtis Furniture executed the design vision of each property flawlessly.
“Their meticulous attention to detail throughout the planning and manufacturing processes was greatly appreciated.”
