Kromek Group delight at £670,000 security deals
A technology firm behind equipment used to foil terror plots has secured £670,000 supply deals.
Kromek Group is sending wearable radiation detectors to European and US customers.
Used by defence forces worldwide, the apparatus helps thwart extremist threats such as ‘dirty’ bombs.
Bosses say the Sedgefield-headquartered company’s European client will use the equipment to boost civilian science and technology partnership work around chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats, with its US customer operating in the defence and security sector.
The deals come just days after the NETPark-based company posted its first annual profit following a “transformative year… of landmark agreements”.
Dr Arnab Basu, chief executive, said: “These orders underscore our continued commitment to providing advanced detection solutions for emergency response services.
“In an environment marked by ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, demand for our solutions continues to grow.
“These orders reflect the increasing trust in our innovative technologies and further solidify our position as a leading provider in the critical security market.”
