Matillion hires CPO to drive AI growth
Data integration platform Matillion has appointed Frank Weigel as chief product officer.
Frank joins following senior roles at Google and Microsoft, where he led low-code and AI-driven product innovation, including launches such as Power Apps and Google App Integration.
He will now lead product strategy at Matillion as the company scales its AI-powered data productivity cloud.
Frank said: “After two decades gaining experience across both Silicon Valley startups and Big Tech, I am eager to bring that perspective to further establish the data productivity cloud as the most intuitive and effective data integration platform for the AI era.
“Recognising that enterprise AI relies critically on accessible internal data, I’m thrilled by the opportunity to empower humans and AI agents to gather and transform the data they need – both with AI-driven tools and for their AI initiatives.”
Matillion, which was minted a unicorn in 2021, continues to invest in intelligent data integration, with recent AI integrations including Snowflake Cortex AI and AWS Bedrock.
Matthew Scullion, chief executive and co-founder of dual-headquartered Matillion, with offices in Manchester and Denver, Colorado, added: “I am delighted to welcome Frank Weigel to the Matillion executive team.
“As enterprises urgently demand exponential growth of their data, data integration needs to evolve and take advantage of the AI opportunity to achieve that scale.
“With his domain experience and years at the heart of Silicon Valley, Frank is perfectly placed to shape the data productivity cloud to meet these ever-growing and evolving needs.”
