Wave rides high with £120 million NEPO deal
A procurement organisation is extending a major national contract, supporting ongoing sustainability and cost-saving efforts in the public sector.
Water retailer Wave has renewed its place on NEPO’s water framework, a £120 million contract covering supply and efficiency services.
The three-year agreement, with an optional one-year extension, builds on Wave’s eight-year relationship with NEPO, following a competitive tender process.
Under the previous contract, public sector customers saved more than £250,000 annually – savings that are especially relevant following the rise in wholesale water and waste costs from April 2025.
Headquartered in the North East, both organisations are committed to creating long-term social and environmental impact in the region, including recent joint volunteering work at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter.
Tony March, Wave director of public sector and industrial customers, said: “We couldn’t be happier to continue our longstanding relationship with NEPO, allowing us to build upon all the great things we have been able to achieve together.
“Working alongside NEPO, we’re focused on helping public sector organisations enhance their sustainability efforts through improved water management practices, supporting them to become more environmentally responsible while also reducing costs, which is even more important given the increase in water bills for businesses and the emerging water scarcity crisis.”
Marie Forster, energy lead at NEPO, added: “We’re delighted to be renewing our partnership with Wave, continuing a relationship built on shared values and a commitment to delivering tangible benefits for the public sector.
“Wave’s expertise and collaborative approach play a vital role in helping our members manage water in a more cost-effective and sustainable way.”
