Transport planning and engineering consultancy chooses Newcastle for North East base
Leeds-headquartered Andrew Moseley Associates (AMA) has expanded into North East England, opening a new office at Haylofts in the heart of Newcastle.
The move to the city strengthens AMA’s presence across the UK, creating new opportunities for collaboration, recruitment and sector growth, as well as jobs and opportunities for local people.
Established in 2017, AMA, a multi-award-winning transport planning and infrastructure engineering business, has a strong track record of gaining 99% success rates on planning consents for developments across multiple sectors and has established itself as a trusted advisor.
AMA is the preferred transport planning advisor for major multinational clients like Aldi and McDonald’s, managing highways and transport matters for their new stores and restaurants across the UK. They also support numerous housebuilders and commercial developers across the region providing specialist advice on transport planning, flood risk assessments, drainage strategy and detailed design. The new North East base enhances AMA’s ability to serve existing clients and foster new relationships to support regional development projects.
Already active in the area, AMA is working as part of the project team for Arlington Real Estate and Homes England on a major development north of Cramlington. AMA has recently achieved key milestones, including securing agreements with National Highways and two local authorities for a 1,200-home scheme at Wynyard Park, as well as obtaining planning consent for a new Aldi foodstore on Mill Road in Durham, which is now under construction.
Andrew Moseley, Managing Director, AMA, said:
“Opening our Newcastle office brings us even closer to the clients, communities, and projects we’re already proud to support across the North East. This wider regional presence allows us to further enhance the high-quality service and planning success we’re known for, while also positioning us to grow our business and team as we build new relationships in this thriving part of the UK.”
Cllr Alex Hay, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, Newcastle City Council, said:
“It is fantastic to welcome AMA to Newcastle bringing new jobs for local people. Newcastle and the wider region is ripe with opportunity and it’s an incredibly exciting time as AMA joins our vibrant business community.
“As an organisation committed to diversity, with a 50/50 gender split across all levels and actively championing apprenticeships, we are thrilled that they have chosen Newcastle as their new base and look forward to their future here.”
Alongside Andrew Moseley, the Newcastle office will be led by Aaron Yesudian, Senior Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer and Jonathan Hazell, Principal Transport Planner who are both based in the North East. Aaron and Jonathan have gained a wide breadth of experience across the UK, coupled with their local and regional expertise in their respective fields, they are ideally positioned to drive AMA’s growth and presence in the North East.
Over the next 6 to 12 months, recruitment will begin to build a dedicated local team to meet the region’s growing demand for transport planning and infrastructure engineering advice. This will include apprenticeship opportunities for young professionals at the start of their careers - something AMA is proud to actively champion.
