Sheffield Technology Parks adds duo to board
Sheffield Technology Parks (STP) has appointed Mel Kanarek and Claire Mayfield-Tulip to its board as it strengthens its leadership team.
Mel is a co-founder of Sheffield Digital and brings over 20 years of experience in the city’s digital industries.
She said: “Over the past 10 years with Sheffield Digital, I've seen how the right kind of support can make all the difference to fledgling tech companies and ambitious founders.
“They need flexible accommodation; access to networks, advice and funding; connections with other founders and potential collaborators, and a supportive community – all of which the STP model provides.”
Claire is a commercial property lawyer with two decades of legal experience in Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
Claire added: “I’ve worked with businesses across Sheffield for more than two decades and have seen how important it is to provide the right foundations for growth – not just physical space, but a real ecosystem of support.
“STP plays a key role in that, and I’m excited to contribute to its vital work.”
The appointments support STP’s mission to grow the city’s tech sector and expand its innovation spaces.
Tom Wolfenden, chief executive of STP, added: “Mel and Claire bring a unique and powerful combination of experience, networks, and deep commitment to the region.
“Mel’s knowledge of the digital sector and her connections with founders will be invaluable, while Claire’s commercial insight and legal expertise will help guide our ambitions to grow and invest in new spaces.
“We’re incredibly lucky to have them both joining the team.”
