Buzzworks achieves B Corp recognition
A Scottish hospitality group has become the country’s first multi-venue operator to achieve B Corp certification.
Family-owned Buzzworks has joined more than 9700 companies in the global B Corp community.
The achievement follows a rigorous assessment by B Lab, the non-profit behind the B Corp movement, which recognised Buzzworks’ commitment to sustainability, ethical practices and community support, including efforts to reduce waste and energy consumption.
The accolade comes after an 18 per cent turnover increase in 2024 to £34.8 million.
Buzzworks also recently won at the Publican Awards – marking another first for a Scottish hospitality operator – and continues to expand its portfolio across Scotland, with ambitious plans to double in size.
Kenny Blair, Buzzworks’ managing director, said: “Achieving B Corp certification has been one of the most challenging and rewarding journeys we’ve undertaken as a business.
“With our scale, it was no small task, but we were absolutely determined to make it happen.
“We are incredibly proud of this achievement.
“It’s a testament to the collective effort of our team and the values we live by every day.”
