Tech firm Filtronic secures fresh Leonardo deal
A technology firm has secured a defence deal.
Filtronic is set to supply parts to Leonardo.
Bosses say the company will provide “critical components” for the operator’s Active Electronically Scanned Array radar systems, which aids aircraft pilots during air-to-air combat missions.
The contract comes just days after County Durham-headquartered radio frequency parts maker Filtronic announced an £800,000 deal with Leonardo.
It also follows a £24 million contract with Elon Musk’s Space X venture and work with Airbus Defence and Space to support satellite production for Eutelsat OneWeb.
Dave Marshall, director of programmes at Filtronic, which operates from Sedgefield’s NETPark and has further bases in Leeds and Manchester, said: “This ongoing relationship is a testament to our strong track record of successful project delivery for Leonardo.
“By working closely with its engineering team, we’ve consistently achieved outstanding results.
“We’re excited to build on this success and strengthen our collaboration moving forward.”
