New deal ‘is a bullseye for Robinsons’
A facilities firm is expanding.
Robinsons Facilities Services has bought the assets and client base of Wakefield-based Bensons Gas Engineering, adding 400 more sites to its portfolio.
Bosses say the deal brings the total number of commercial and public buildings maintained by Robinsons to more than 1500, with Bensons’ clients including schools, healthcare facilities and local authority buildings across Yorkshire.
Luke Kitchen, managing director at Bishop Thornton-headquartered Robinsons, said: “We share a similar client base to Bensons Gas Engineering, so this acquisition – our biggest to date – really is a bullseye.
“It is a perfect fit and gives us a strong platform to introduce our broader range of services – including air conditioning, fire and security, water hygiene, electrical and other maintenance, repair and compliance services – to our new customer community.”
The move follows a period of rapid growth for Robinsons, which has doubled its turnover in two years and now works with academy trusts, commercial property managers and businesses in banking, retail, leisure and more.
Helen Culloden, managing director of Bensons, which will now focus on developing its specialist Bensons Control Panels division, added: “I would like to thank all our commercial gas clients for their loyalty and trust over more than 60 years.
“I have every confidence Robinsons will maintain the high standard of service they have come to rely on and expect from Bensons.”
