Station Suites ‘a real asset’ to Middlesbrough
A new serviced accommodation offer has launched in Middlesbrough, tailored for longer-stay guests.
Station Suites, located on Linthorpe Road near the railway station, features 42 serviced apartments with hotel-style benefits and added flexibility, such as larger rooms, kitchenettes and laundry access, creating what developers are describing as a “home from home plus”.
Apartments range from 27m² studios to two-bedroom suites, aimed at professionals and longer-term visitors.
The development has been financed by Ashall Projects managing director Mark Ashall, alongside fellow investors.
Their £2.5 million investment also covers the recent refurbishment of half the rooms at the nearby 159-room Holiday Inn Express – the company’s first Middlesbrough project, opened ten years ago.
The same management team will oversee both sites, creating ten new jobs and delivering several internal promotions.
Station Suites will also offer a 24-hour reception, bar, lounge, pantry, and communal dining area.
Mark said: “The hotel has been hugely successful.
“But we recognised that there was an urgent need to offer a different type of accommodation to cater for some of the thousands of people who are coming to the Tees Valley because of the new opportunities created by Net Zero Teesside, and other major projects at the Wilton Centre and Teesworks.
“These contractors and consultants will often need to stay for a few days, weeks or even months and they want a bit more space, comfort and independence.
“Station Suites offers the best of both worlds: a ‘home from home plus’, as well as the support, service and security provided by our fantastic hotel team.”
Middlesbrough mayor Chris Cooke, who performed the opening ceremony of Station Suites, added: “I think it’s amazing, well-developed and stylish.
“It’s really nice to have it here – so close to the amenities, the station and the A66.
“It’s a real asset. I think it’s spot on.
“An absolutely fantastic development.”
