Station Suites ‘a real asset’ to Middlesbrough
A property development company has opened a new accommodation offer in Middlesbrough designed for longer-stay guests.
Station Suites, located on Linthorpe Road near the railway station, features 42 serviced apartments with hotel-style benefits and added flexibility, such as larger rooms, kitchenettes and laundry access, helping create a “home from home plus”.
Apartment sizes range from 27m² studios to two-bedroom suites, aimed at professionals and longer-term visitors.
The development is backed by Ashall Projects, whose £2.5 million investment also includes the recent refurbishment of half the rooms at the nearby 159-room Holiday Inn Express – their first Middlesbrough project which opened ten years ago.
Bosses say the same management team will run both sites, with ten new jobs created and several promotions among existing staff.
They add that the new Station Suites building will include a 24-hour reception, bar, lounge area, pantry and communal dining space.
Mark Ashall, managing director of Ashall Projects, said: “The hotel has been hugely successful.
“But we recognised that there was an urgent need to offer a different type of accommodation to cater for some of the thousands of people who are coming to the Tees Valley because of the new opportunities created by Net Zero Teesside, and other major projects at the Wilton Centre and Teesworks.
“These contractors and consultants will often need to stay for a few days, weeks or even months and they want a bit more space, comfort and independence.
“Station Suites offers the best of both worlds: a ‘home from home plus’, as well as the support, service and security provided by our fantastic hotel team.”
Middlesbrough mayor Chris Cooke, who performed the opening ceremony of Station Suites, added: “I think it’s amazing, well-developed and stylish.
“It’s really nice to have it here – so close to the amenities, the station and the A66.
“It’s a real asset. I think it’s spot on.
“An absolutely fantastic development.”
