Arthian expands presence with Liverpool base
A Glasgow-based environmental consultancy has expanded its footprint in England with a new North West base.
Arthian, one of Scotland’s largest environmental, planning and engineering consultancies, has opened a new office in Liverpool to support its growing portfolio of work across England and more specifically in the North West.
Bosses say the move follows the recent merger of Scottish firms Mabbett and IKM Consulting to form Arthian and “is a natural step” in a wider growth strategy, with the firm now operating from 17 offices across the UK and Ireland, employing over 200 people.
They add that the Liverpool hub will focus on flood risk, drainage and environmental assessment, led by experienced flood risk specialist Josh Rigby.
Josh said: “Our team will bring market-leading capability in flood risk assessment, drainage strategy and climate adaptation to clients across the North of England, with more capability to come.
“From major infrastructure schemes to planning support, we’re already building a strong pipeline of work and look forward to growing our presence and team here – watch this space!”
Derek J. McNab, chief executive of Arthian, added: “Establishing our Liverpool office is a natural next step in our growth journey.
“As Scotland’s second largest consultancy, we’re now focused on enhancing our presence across the UK, and Liverpool gives us a strong base to support clients in the North West and Midlands.
“We’re already seeing demand for our integrated planning, engineering, and environmental expertise in the region, particularly around water management, regeneration and sustainable development.
“This new office reflects our commitment to being a locally present, nationally capable consultancy.”
