Intelect gains national recognition for skills push
An electrical and mechanical engineer has been recognised for its commitment to the next generation.
Intelect has ranked 11th in the latest Apprenticeships Top 50 SME Employers in England for 2025 list.
The annual survey assesses employers on areas including apprentice feedback, learner progression and diversity and inclusion.
The firm has featured in the list for four consecutive years, with its latest ranking its highest position to date.
The Middlesbrough-based company has operated an apprenticeship programme since the late 1990s, and today supports 42 learners across a range of disciplines and educational levels.
It is set to welcome a further eight-strong intake in September.
Fran Cormican, Intelect managing director, said: “Apprenticeships are a vital part of our business and our future, and this recognition is a testament to the hard work of our team and the dedication of our apprentices.”
Zoe Lewis, principal and chief executive at Middlesbrough College, which is one of Intelect’s training partners, added: “The firm shows absolute leadership when it comes to supporting young people.
“Not only do they have an extensive and wide-ranging apprenticeship programme, but they provide work experience placements, perform guest lectures for our students and show thought leadership to stimulate solutions to break the skills shortage cycle.”
