Numiko turns 25 with principles intact
A Leeds-based digital agency is celebrating 25 years of staying independent and sticking to its principles.
Numiko, founded in 2000 by six Bradford University graduates, has grown from a bedroom start-up into the city’s longest-running independent digital agency, now employing 44 people in central Leeds.
The agency has carved out a reputation for working on meaningful projects with high-profile clients such as the British Museum, Channel 4, the University of Oxford and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
David Eccles, co-founder and managing director, said: “We've always chosen our clients as much as they’ve chosen us.
“We work with organisations doing something good and important.
“Pouring your heart into selling trainers doesn't feel worth it, but it does when it’s The Children's Society.”
Over the past two and a half decades, Numiko has won multiple awards and become one of the UK’s leading Drupal specialists, delivering complex digital platforms across the public and third sectors.
Jaron Ghani, co-founder and innovation director of Numiko, says the secret ingredient of its success has been curiosity.
He added: “It’s such a valuable trait.
“It lets you question requirements, uncover the root issues and solve them in the best way.
“We really think there are no stupid questions at Numiko.
“The team thrives on trying new stuff.
“Tinkering to get an idea out of your imagination and into a quick prototype is so fun and exciting.”
