College recognised for ‘pioneering’ approach
An education provider has been recognised for its innovative approach to digital learning.
Bradford College has been named College of the Year at the Edufuturists Awards, receiving praise for its transformative use of technology to enhance teaching and student outcomes.
The award follows more than 30,000 public votes and a rigorous judging process.
Bradford College’s learning, development and innovation team was commended for upskilling staff, supporting students and creating inclusive, tech-driven experiences, with the judging panel saying they had introduced “pioneering educational practices and technologies” to ensure students were “equipped for the challenges of tomorrow”.
This included initiatives such as a 500-member ‘Go Digital with Microsoft’ staff community, immersive classrooms and custom VR tools supporting SEND and ESOL learners.
Tim Lupton, head of learning, development and innovation at Bradford College, said: “This is a very significant award within the further education sector.
“It is judged by a panel of respected professionals who have dedicated their careers to advancing digital pedagogy and upskilling across the sector.
“Being recognised by such an esteemed group highlights Bradford College’s leadership and commitment to supporting staff through innovative digital practices.
“It’s a powerful endorsement of the impact we’re making in education.”
Monika Worthington, learning innovation lead and Microsoft certified educator at Bradford College, added: “We were shortlisted last year, so were thrilled to win it this year.
“The award was for our digital transformation, and what makes it even better is that we didn’t nominate ourselves – we’re still not sure who put us forward, which feels extra special.”
