Tech veteran launches AI firm in Sunderland
A “trailblazing” tech leader has launched a new venture in Sunderland.
CiberAI, which will specialise in agentic automation and enterprise-ready artificial intelligence (AI), has launched from Sunderland Software Centre – home to a growing cluster of digital and creative businesses.
The company is led by Wearsider Mac McEldon, who has returned to the North East after three decades in senior international tech roles, including posts in New York, Zurich, London and Washington.
A former senior figure at Deloitte and early developer of Microsoft Azure’s forerunner Project Red Dog, Mac brings extensive knowledge of AI and cloud infrastructure.
Alongside his brother Paul McEldon, chief executive of the North East BIC, and content strategist Chris March, Mac is focused on helping businesses embrace automation and AI through AgenticFlow™ –CiberAI’s flagship framework designed to accelerate adoption, build internal capability and unlock measurable value.
Mac said: “From an early age I had a passion for computer engineering.
“My career’s always been linked to that.
“I see clearly how AI can positively impact businesses and bring transformative value to those businesses.
“But it’s an incremental process – a drive for greater efficiency involves increased complexity and I’m the trusted advisor who provides clarity.
“CiberAI can separate practical realities from an ever-growing hype cycle.
“It was always the plan to return to Sunderland and contribute to the growth of the North East at what’s such an exciting time for the region.
“I still have family and friends here and I keep being told that the region is on the cusp of something really special when it comes to tech and the creative industries.
“I want CiberAI to be part of that regeneration by helping businesses to fulfil their potential and to grow at pace.”
As a certified Microsoft partner and accredited Agentic AI specialist, CiberAI will deliver tailored solutions to organisations seeking practical transformation through machine intelligence.
Mac added: “If businesses want to build, then AgenticFlow™ lays the foundation.
“It’s the culmination of matured thought leadership built up over decades.
“AgenticFlow™ is the bricks and mortar you need to ensure your business is futureproof and in a position to benefit from the many positives of AI.”
