London Breathwork Expert With Brain Tumour Joins Fearne Cotton at Happy Place Festival
This month a local entrepreneur, certified breathwork teacher and life coach from Brighton, is to join celebrities such as Davina McCall, Julia Bradbury and Liz Earl - all set to spread joy at Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Festival, at Gunnesbury Park, on 12th and 13th July.
Sam Adams, 58, has two decades of personal development and coaching behind her, and works with clients including Olympians, pro-athletes, and high net worth individuals who are looking to achieve peak performance, as well as hosting regular breathwork classes in Brighton for people looking to find peace and calm in their busy lives. Having featured on Fearne’s Happy Place podcast 2 years ago, she was asked last year to host a workshop, but this year sees her take centre stage, with a powerful session to guide the audience through her breathwork techniques, as well as holding a workshop in the meditation teepee.
Sam, who has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour, brings her joie de vivre to her work, after having spent many years battling personal trauma, depression and grief. She is now desperate to live life in a way that creates calm and peace. She is on a mission to help others live their own lives more honestly, fully, and freely, and is looking forward to using her expertise to help and inspire the audiences at Happy Place.
“My goal is to make this work accessible, powerful, and grounded in real human connection - not fluff, not hype and definitely not just another wellness trend” she said. “I found breathwork during one of the hardest seasons of my life - grief, loss, identity crisis - and it helped me come back to myself. I’d read all the books, done the courses, but I still needed something more.”
The combination of grief, responsibility, and emotional strain put Sam in a place of deep personal reflection and forced her to grow in ways she never imagined. Losing her sister’s partner, her father, her dog and her marriage all took a serious toll on Sam, leaving her with no ambition to live, but it was also these devastating life events that allowed Sam to emotionally transform and explore personal healing in a way that saw her not only survive but thrive.
Breathwork has allowed Sam to clear emotional blockages, release trauma and regulate her nervous system, and to support her coaching clients as it had a transformative impact on them. Sam said “I believe that how we breathe is how we live - and when we change our breath, we change everything”.
Having previously suffered from Imposter Syndrome, being trusted by Fearne Cotton as an expert in her field has helped her to value what she has to bring to the world. Sam said: “Sometimes we don’t see ourselves as others already do. And I think a lot of us…especially the big hearted, purpose led ones, swing between “I’m bloody amazing” and “What the hell am I doing here?”
This year at the Happy Place Festival there will be inspiring talks, live podcast recordings, yoga, sound healing, creative workshops and incredible performances - making it the ultimate feel good event.
