Holiday Tracker takes stress out of staff leave
A Newcastle-based software company is celebrating ten years of helping small businesses manage staff holidays easily.
The Holiday Tracker, founded in 2015 by Anthony Burns and tailored to SMEs, was created to offer a straightforward, fuss-free system for holiday and absence tracking.
The platform simplifies holiday approvals, tracks team availability and calculates leave fairly – including for part-timers and new starters – without the need for a full HR department.
Many agencies still rely on spreadsheets, risking errors and burnout.
The software offers mobile access, branch-wide visibility and automated pro-rata calculations, making it easier for managers and staff to stay connected and in control.
Anthony said: “I created The Holiday Tracker after seeing colleagues in previous roles struggle with spreadsheets and inboxes full of holiday requests.
“My aim was to build something that just works – simple, straightforward software backed by friendly support, so business owners and office managers can manage annual leave without feeling like they’re wasting hours on it.”
In recent years, The Holiday Tracker has expanded its focus to the estate agency sector, where high staff turnover and irregular hours make holiday management a growing challenge.
Anthony added: “Estate agents work in a fast-paced environment where missing cover can cost a sale.
“We’ve seen a growing number of agencies choosing our system because it helps them stay organised, reduce admin and support staff wellbeing – without needing a complex HR system.”
A spokesperson for Brockenhurst Estate Agents highlighted the benefits they have experienced with the software, saying: “We have been using Holiday Tracker for some time now and it has made a huge difference to managing our team holidays and absences.
“It is a great piece of software and an exceptionally easy-to-use mobile app.”
Estate agents and other businesses interested in trying the system can start a free seven-day trial at www.theholidaytracker.co.uk.
