Logistics firm drives viral prom arrival
A County Durham logistics company has turned heads with a prom night surprise for a local student.
Bowburn-based Katem Logistics arranged for Rebecca Potter to arrive at her school prom in its striking blue anniversary truck, a vehicle originally painted to mark the 90th birthday of the firm’s founder.
The bold entrance, personally driven by Katem director Matthew Chaganis, has now racked up nearly 2 million views on social media and earned praise from Mrs Burton, Headteacher at Belmont Community School.
Known for backing rising motorsport star Thomas Potter (TPot), Katem extended its support to Thomas’ sister for one very memorable night.
The business regularly supports local schools and rising sports talent – but this heartfelt gesture shows its commitment to community goes beyond the racetrack.
Matthew said: “It was a proud moment for all of us.
“Rebecca’s reaction, the excitement from her classmates, and the response online have been overwhelming.
“At Katem, we’re a family-run business and community means everything to us.
“Supporting Thomas has been an honour – and this felt like a wonderful way to celebrate another young person in his life.”
